Heladería 1896
A 130-year-old ice cream business, with no website and quotes calculated by hand.

The problem
Heladería 1896 makes traditional paila ice cream and traces its story to 1896 and its founder Rosalía Suárez. It had three shops in Quito and no website at all.
Customers were unsure where the shops were and what was on offer. Event quotes — the higher-value work — were calculated by hand, one at a time, whenever someone asked.
The solution
A real website in Spanish and English, with the flavours, the shops, the history and the ordering routes people already use.
And the part that saves the owners time: event quotes calculated automatically and delivered in seconds, by WhatsApp and email, to the customer and to the people who run events.
What I built
- A bilingual website, Spanish and English
- 28 flavours presented by type, including water-based, milk-based and sugar-free
- Three shop locations with hours and current status
- An assistant on the site that answers customer questions
- Ordering through WhatsApp and Rappi
- An automatic quote tool for events
- Quotes delivered by WhatsApp and email to both sides at once
- A loyalty card, the history of the business, and answers to common questions
The result
The business has a professional presence for the first time, customers can find the shops, and an event quote that used to be produced by hand now arrives in seconds — to the customer and to the owners at the same moment.
This one was paid client work. One of the three shops sits inside La Tejedora Distrito Creativo, the district I ran for 14 years, so I knew the business from the inside before I built anything for it.
